Verizon Opts to Pre-sale BlackBerry Tour to All, Sprint Does Not Follow Suit

Easy there, Verizon customers. Lay down your pitchforks and torches. You cried. Verizon listened. According to the Verizon site, pre-sales for the BlackBerry Tour 9630 should open tomorrow for all customers – both new and slightly used – after it was originally reported that the pre-sale would only be open to newbies. It looks like it should start shipping on July 13. Now as for Sprint, it looks like Sprint customers wanting to get their hands on the hot new BlackBerry toy will have to wait for the release date. It’s not too late for Sprint to change its tune on pre-orders like Verizon did, so no need to start camping out at the nearest Sprint store just yet. Right now on Verizon’s and Sprint’s page, those eligible few (new customers and upgrades) are looking at about $200 after discounts for the Tour.
